Message from the President: A Loss of a Friend and Colleague at SEAF

SEAF Macedonia Director General Oliver Kosturanov passed away unexpectedly on November 22nd, 2014, in Skopje, Macedonia. He will be remembered as a dedicated team member focused on Macedonian entrepreneurs and their enterprises, an accomplished investor and leader, and most importantly as the father of three children.

Some of Mr. Kosturanov’s accomplishments in his various roles at SEAF, where he started in 1999, include: managing the SEAF Macedonia Fund, the Small Investment Fund, and the Micro Investment Fund. Before he became Director General for Macedonia, Mr. Kosturanov spent three years as Management Director of the management consulting company SPMG, and six years as a senior investment officer at SEAF Macedonia. He also served as the main investment consultant for SEAF in several mergers and acquisitions of regional (Western Balkan) companies to foreign investors.

Having known Oliver for more than a decade, SEAF CEO Bert van der Vaart said: “Oli was both humble as well as irrepressible–he always could see the humor of the situation, no matter how complex it was. Oli was a wonderful friend to so many people whose lives he touched. He will be profoundly missed.”
