Fons Marcelis

Fons Marcelis joined SEAF’s Board of Directors in 2020, bringing four decades of experience in organization, management, and human resources. Fons spent 12 years as a management consultant and manager in the primary and preventive healthcare sector and with Philips Electronics. He then worked over 24 years at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the World Bank Group (WBG) as HR Advisor (including to SME units), and in corporate HR management roles, including responsibility for total compensation, and for labor relations, internal justice and conflict resolution.

Since 2016, he has worked as an independent HR and management consultant, and as an external reviewer of labor relations issues for several international organizations. Fons holds a master’s degree in social sciences from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and followed various post-graduate programs (IOD, LSE, Harvard/Stanford, HEC). He also volunteers as coordinator for a program supporting a rural school in Haiti.
