Fons Marcelis joined SEAF’s Board of Directors in 2020, bringing four decades of experience in organization, management, and human resources. Fons spent 12 years as a management consultant and manager in the primary and preventive healthcare sector at Philips Electronics. He then worked over 24 years at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the World Bank Group (WBG), in a variety of roles, as an HR adviser (including to SME units in IFC and WBG), as global head of compensation, and in corporate HR management roles. Most recently, from 2008-2016, Fons was responsible for the WBG HR case management practice. Since 2016 he has worked as an independent consultant and external reviewer of labor relations issues for economic development institutions and other international organizations. Fons holds a master’s degree in Social Sciences from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and followed a variety of post-graduate programs.
