Based in D.C., Mara is focused on SEAF’s global marketing initiatives and investor relations, as well as implementation of the firm’s impact strategy across its 28 offices. Prior to joining SEAF, Mara worked in New York for five years at a multi-strategy hedge fund with more than $30 billion in assets under management. She began in research, where she led the firm’s geopolitical monitoring of the Middle East, worked to assess regulatory risks, sourced expert resources and conducted due diligence and research across a variety of markets, companies and individuals. After two years, Mara was recruited to the firm’s communications department where she worked to develop messaging and implement public relations strategies for the firm’s high-profile investments. Prior to graduating from business school, she spent her summer in Mexico City working on strategic partnerships and thought leadership for MassChallenge, a global non-profit startup accelerator. Mara holds a B.A. in political science from Tufts University and an MBA in Finance, Entrepreneurship and Innovation from The New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
