Terry Wyer joined the SEAF Board in 2021. He is currently running the Impact Investment arm for Heifer Project International as Senior Vice President for Heifer Impact Capital (HPI). Before joining HPI, Terry had multiple senior level international development and investment roles in both the public and private sector. The focus of Terry’s work has been on facilitating finance and investment into local communities for impact and development outcomes. With over 25 years of international experience, he has focused globally on public and private sector engagement and development initiatives. His experience includes fund and investment vehicle development, capital raising, financial institutional capacity building, SME lending, and investment facilitation through multiple channels. Terry has also worked for several USAID projects over the past decade, where he has led impact investing industry development efforts and advised institutional investors on responsible and impact investing strategies. Terry is well versed in working with USG and other international donors and financial sector partners such as the World Bank, IFC, EBRD, AfDB, the EU, ADB, and other DFI’s and regional development banks to aid delivery of capital through private sector engagement. He has lived in South Africa for the past 15 years; prior to that, he lived internationally for 25 years, working both globally and regionally in diverse areas such as Eastern and Central Europe (Albania, Russia, Poland, Austria), Asia (Indonesia, Kazakhstan and the Philippines), and Africa. Terry speaks Russian and Polish with English being his native language.
