Yasmin Saadat
Board of Directors
Yasmin Saadat joined SEAF’s Board of Directors in 2019, bringing more than three decades of experience in development economics and investing in emerging markets. She currently serves as a Senior Fiduciary Expert on the Green Climate Fund’s Accreditation Panel.
Prior to her current position, Yasmin spent over 30 years at the World Bank and the IFC, working across macroeconomic policy, agricultural sector policy, and lending operations. She held a variety of positions, including economist, investment officer, and operations manager for trade finance portfolio facilities. Most recently at the IFC, she served as Product Head of Commodity and Structured Trade Finance, where she launched and managed a new $1.5 billion structured trade finance line of business in partnership with emerging market banks and global traders.
From 2007 to 2009, Yasmin served as Principal Member and Chief Operating Officer of Potomac River Capital, then a newly established asset management firm for a global macro hedge fund. Yasmin holds a BA in Economics from the Université des Sciences Sociales in Grenoble, as well as an MA and a PhD in Development Economics and International Development from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. She is also a CFA charterholder.
